The Village Hall Committee will be embarking on a new project to provide some TLC to somewhat tired village hall facilities.
We have commissioned Luke Williamson Architect Ltd to draw up an initial concept. They have based their ideas on the present use of space and how we can build on the existing structure. We tend to agree that the front is a bit of an eye sore and by providing an entrance lobby will give the hall more focus.
We intend to remove the bar (very 60’s) and create a kitchen with counter, move the men’s and disabled toilets to the new lobby area, this being stone build from the foundation of the existing wooden structure.
The design caters for either keeping the existing changing room area or providing a second small hall for meetings or community groups, the decision for this will be solicited from villagers and the Parish Council. The alterations include ensuring the hall is generally an ‘accessible’ space for disabled access.
Approximate build cost £65,000 plus internal work and VAT.
