Message from Bicester Sculpture Group:
Oxfordshire Artweeks is upon us again. As ever, it’s a wonderful opportunity to visit the studios of working artists and see what they’ve been inspired to create.
Regular Artweeks. visitors will be familiar with Bicester Sculpture Group which has been the home of a unique studio where a group of sculptors work . The group was the inspiration of George Muller, who worked on notable commissions in cathedrals as well as private houses. He built the studio in the 1990s with the vision of creating a space for sculptors to work together in a shared, creative environment and his legacy continues today with 24 artists working in stone, wood, metal, clay and other media. Most of the artists themselves live in villages surrounding Bicester.
In previous years the group has been located in the Old Vicarage but this year, their exhibition will be held at the former St Edburgs School in Cemetery Road, Bicester OX26 6BB. Its just round the corner from the Church and Old Vicarage so make sure you visit.
Open between 11am and 4pm from Saturday May 18th to Monday May 27th, this year they are sharing the event space with Oxfordshire Youth Arts Project and it promises to be an excellent event.
