Police & Government Cyber Crime Support for Local Organisations
My name is Chris White, a Police Detective working in the Police Cyber Resilience Centre for the South East, a Home Office, and policing initiative set up to help organisations protect themselves from fraud and cyber crime.
We’re seeing a growing number of online threats disrupting small organisations, especially email and social media account takeovers, ransomware attacks, and network breaches. These threats can have consequences for finances, data protection, and public trust. To support local organisations, we are offering practical tools, guidance, and resources to help identify and reduce vulnerabilities. The support is aimed at organisations that use email, websites, social media, or internet-connected devices, including parish councils, charities, and small businesses.
You gain immediate access to funded security awareness training that helps meet ICO guidance on data protection, regular threat updates, actionable guidance, and a direct link to police cyber security expertise. The Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Barber has announced new resources available to councils, schools, parents and carers and others as part of his education strategy under the Violence Prevention Partnership programme (VPP).
Two short videos have been produced, one on child exploitation and the other on online harm, prepared using subject matter experts and drawn from the lived experience of victims. They have been funded through the Violence Prevention Partnership and complement its offer for professionals and those working with young people.
We are asking partners and organisations that work towards protecting and supporting children and young people to help us disseminate these two videos through your websites, social media, newsletters and other platforms.

Good afternoon,
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for the Thames Valley will be recommissioning support services for victims later this year. To ensure that victims get the best possible support we would like to get the views from those who have experienced crime on what is and isn’t working currently in support services.
To make this happen, Lisa Ward (http://www.iamlisaward.com/) will be running a series of focus groups on behalf of the OPCC. This is the opportunity for victims of crime to tell us what they believe is needed to help people in the local area.
We want to make sure that as many people as possible can take part so during February we are running several focus group sessions online and in person, as well as one on one interviews. Travel expenses to events will be covered and we are offering a voucher for attendees.
We would be grateful if you could help us reach as many people as possible by sharing this opportunity on your channels and with your distribution lists.
