The proposal is for a “tourism development”, including theatres, live shows, restaurants, hotels, conference facilities and parking, on farm land north of Bucknell and alongside the B4100 Bicester to Baynard’s Green road.
The park would have four period villages and thirteen live shows and be open between April and October. It is currently under a second public consultation, an outline planning application is due to be submitted this summer with a decision by Cherwell District Council expected in the winter. Work is planned to start on the site in 2026 with the opening in 2029.
Many local people believe that this development would cause traffic chaos and that local villages will become “rat runs” for drivers trying to avoid the traffic. For more details see the North Oxfordshire Resident Action (NORA) Web Page and the developers web site.
