New Bus Services from 1 July – a correction!

NEW BUS SERVICES LINKING NEARBY RURAL COMMUNITIES WITH BICESTER FROM MONDAY 1 JULY

This new service runs from Monday to Saturday, not Friday as previously posted.

Monday to Saturday – pick up at Hethe War Memorial at 07.39, 10.54, 1342 and 15.42. Last bus departs Bicester at 17.50 to arrive in Hethe at 18.12.

The message from Ability:

New bus services starting on Monday July 1st will restore timetabled public transport coverage to many villages to the north of Bicester. Operated by Ability CIC with financial support from Oxfordshire County Council, services 81 and 82 will operate on Monday to Saturday offering three off-peak return trips plus early morning and early evening facilities. Additionally, new service 108 journeys will supplement the existing provision between Langford Village and Bicester Town Centre, giving a total of four trips in each direction on Monday to Friday. The communities covered by each service are as follows:

Service 82 timetable FROM 1 JULY.  is attached and can also be found at www.traveline.info. Journeys featuring these services can be planned on Traveline by using a travel date of 1 July or later.

Hethe – the Domesday village of Hedham. Today Hethe is a small village of 123 dwellings with about 275 residents. It is situated within Hethe Parish, 4.5 miles north of Bicester in Oxfordshire. A large part of the village is designated as a Conservation Area and there are fifteen Grade 2 Listed buildings.
