Jackie’s funeral was held on 3rd December at Banbury Crematorium. Paul said that before she died Jacqueline had said ‘anyone who wishes to come is welcome but no one should feel any obligation’.
We were sad to hear of the death of Jacqueline (Jackie) Morrow. She will be missed in the village as she was an integral part of village life and provided much encouragement and support to others. Our thoughts are with Paul and their sons Niall and Conor.
Jackie was diagnosed with cancer on 19th October and died at home on 12th November, only 24 days after the initial diagnosis.
She always showed an active interest in Hethe, never reluctant to give her opinion on any change which affected the appearance of the village – always with a ready sense of humour! She was Hethe Parish Clerk for several years with responsibilities which included the finances of the parish, managing all correspondence and documentation, acting as secretary for meetings and processing planning applications.
Jackie often helped in the village and liked to take part in social events. She excelled at the quizzes and was always a lot of fun. She was key to the production of the Kingfisher News at one time by setting out the page ready for printing. The Kingfisher News was a free publication delivered to all homes in the village before the village web site was available.
