Due to the latest lockdown the Parish Council decided that there would not be a public Act of Remembrance this year.
The Act of Remembrance at Finmere was live streamed on 8 November on the Shelswell News Facebook page and made available later under Shelswell Parishes on You Tube. The list of names (as below) from Hethe War Memorial were read as part of this event.
Please take time privately to remember those named on the War Memorial who gave their lives during the World Wars, but also everyone else involved in the wars and the local people between 1918 and 1920 who paid for the memorial.

A rededication ceremony on the 100th Anniversary of the War Memorial was performed (under strict Covid-19 regulations) at 8.00am on Saturday 29 August by the Revd Alice Goodall.

The memorial was “raised by the inhabitants of Hethe in memory of those men of the village who served in the Great War”.
It was unveiled by George Mansfield on 29 August 1920. A globe on the top of the Memorial has been replaced by a cross, and the casualties for WW2 were added, otherwise it has not been changed.
The above photo is of George Mansfield who farmed Hethe Brede before he retired to Spring Hill House in Hethe.
