A marvellous team effort to cater for afternoon tea at the Village Hall on February 10th which gave the opportunity to thank the many volunteers who work to keep the church and churchyard presentable, the altar supplied with flowers and the clock running to Hethe time.
Special thanks, a beautiful bouquet and some gifts went to Pauline O’Gorman in very grateful recognition of her many years’ service as Church Warden.
There was also a presentation on the Parish Giving Scheme, newly launched village-wide in Hethe, in efforts to secure the future of St Edmund & St George Church.
Thank you to everyone who came. Due to the generosity of everyone who brought food, made a donation and bought raffle tickets, we made a profit of £113.50 for church funds.
This event was arranged by members of St Edmund & St George Church and was an opportunity to find out more about the church and how you can support the church if you wish. The information about church finances and the 100 Club is on show in the church.
Details and an application form for the new Parish Giving Scheme will be given to all villagers within the next week. More details here.
Special thanks to Flora for organising the event and the delicious food.
Next event – An Evening of Cheese & Wine on Saturday 16th March
